Lilac's Impressions: Winter 2013 (Week 3)

We’re headed down the home stretch folks! Last week we dropped Hakkenden, kind of failed Oreshura, and passed Encouragement of Climb and Maoyuu. We’re left with four series, and all are headed into episode three! Let’s wrap this season up, shall we?

What is with this guy?!
Amnesia
Episode 3

I mentioned last week that I would keep watching this just because I want to know the answers just as much as our Heroine does. This still rings true. This time the Heroine is kinda on her own with Orion out of the picture until the last seconds on the episode. But she’s isn’t 100% alone. Shin and Toma now know about her lost memories and Shin is trying to help her get them back. But, I am very much interested in what happened the night of accident and why Shin can’t quite talk about it yet. This series has plenty of potential and I’m going to stick with it. I’m not completely convinced, but I’m willing to keep going out of pure curiosity.

Final Grade: Tentative Pass

Sasami-san Ganbaranai
Episode 3

I originally picked up this series because it reminded me a lot of NHK. At this point I am confident enough to say this is no where near NHK. The sheltered main character thing is similar but that’s where it ends and the differences begin. This series just dumped a whole lot of plot on us and I’m perfectly ok with that. This will probably get the story moving even more now that Sasami is fine with being outdoors. I did make a bet with my fellow Bukkit Banter co-host MexicanAnime recently about whether or not it was Sasami or her brother who had the God like power. I guess, as of right now, I lost the bet.

Final Grade: BIG FREAKING PASS

Ladies, I have arrived.....

Vividred Operation
Episode 3

I have to give Vividred a few pieces of credit. First is the change in ending theme per episode. Each episode has had each of the new fighters. First end had Akane, second had Akane and Aoi, and this third one has Akane and Saegasa. That is actually something really nice. The next at how consistent it’s been. Each episode has been giving us one new girl right after another. Granted it’s throw in really fast, but compared to other Sentai series, this is actually kinda common from what I’ve seen. The final questions is, though, does Vividred work for me and will I keep watching it? Sure! It’s been holding my interested just as well as Sasami-san has, even with all the awkward panty shots. Maybe it’s because it’s seems familiar cause I kinda had some Power Rangers growing up, but it’s still fun none the less.

Final Grade: Pass

Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited
Episode 3

This series is one of the more tougher ones I’ve watched this season. I was on the fence as of the second episode and was debating on what I want to do with this series. But I think I know what I’m going to do now. What this episode did was give us a little more of Yugiri which is actually kind of nice. It’s like each episode gave us more into our characters. First episode was Andy, second was Hyoubu, and now we have Yugiri. Even though this is a nice thing, I’m still not getting into this series. I tried really hard to, but I just can’t seem to do so. I know there will be plenty of people who may get into this series, but I’m not going to be one of them.
